Orange Ikat Pillow

I designed this simple modern ikat pattern in my Brooklyn studio.  The yarns are  hand dyed and power loom woven from India.  The pillow is sewn by our partner women's empowerment organization in Mumbai.

Ikat fabric is a laborious and intricate craft whereby artisans tie and dye warp (yarns on a loom) threads to create the pattern, then weave fabric on the loom.
